The 2025 edition of the London’s Leading Brokers report has been released, unveiling the individuals and firms setting the benchmark for broking excellence in the London Market.

This year, Martin Collins of WTW takes the top individual spot, reclaiming his position after featuring in the leading group in recent years and cementing his reputation as one of the market’s most respected Aviation specialists.

Collins’ win underscores a year where underwriter feedback placed a premium on client service excellence, technical competence, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions under challenging market conditions.

Widely recognised as the independent benchmark for broking talent and performance, the London’s Leading Broker report from Gracechurch has become a definitive reference for who’s leading the way in the London broking community.

Drawing on nominations from 189 London Market underwriters across 60 insurers, the study reflects peer recognition for 407 individual brokers from 39 different broking houses. The findings offer a uniquely comprehensive snapshot of the market’s most effective and influential brokers.

Joining Collins in the top five overall brokers are Darren Lester of Marsh, a new entrant recognised for his client-first approach in Casualty; Max De Prins of Lockton, who continues his long-standing run of excellence in Marine; Ben Major of Aon, praised for his skills during the market cycle in Cyber and Jack Edmonstone of Marsh, who maintains his strong position in the Energy sector.

On the company side, Marsh once again tops the table for overall broking bench strength, followed by Aon in second and Howden in third. Lockton makes the biggest move of the year, jumping three places to fourth, with Gallagher rounding out the top five.

Ben Bolton, Managing Director of Gracechurch, emphasised the qualities that define broking market leaders: “Broker success is fundamentally about client service excellence, combined with technical competence.

“Character traits and relationship skills are important too, but are supportive factors that drive nominations for being a leading broker in the London Market,” he added.
