Gracechurch, the independent insurance research consultancy, has awarded four separate Service Quality Marque (SQM) accreditations in 2026, covering London Market insurers and UK Regional Market insurers across claims and underwriting disciplines.
London Market Claims Awards
The coveted London Claims SQM was awarded to 14 London insurers in 2026, up from 12 in 2025 as service in the Market continues to improve.
The insurers achieving the London Claims 2026 SQM are: AEGIS London, AXA XL, Beazley, Berkley Specialty London, Chaucer, Chubb, Convex, The Fidelis Partnership, Lancashire, Liberty Specialty Markets, MS Amlin, Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Syndicate, The Hartford and Tokio Marine Kiln.
These insurers were all strongly recommended by claims broking specialists using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) system and achieved consistently high ratings for two customer-oriented measures: Communication and Commerciality. All exceeded the threshold of positive ratings over the previous year, meaning brokers (and insureds) can expect a strong and reliable claims experience from accredited carriers.
This is the 10th year that the London Claims SQM has been awarded and five insurers have held the award since 2017: AEGIS London, Beazley, Chaucer, Liberty Specialty Markets and Tokio Marine Kiln.
Ben Bolton, Managing Director of Gracechurch, comments:
“London Market claims performance continues to improve, with a growing number of insurers demonstrating consistently strong service. The best performers combine technical expertise with proactive communication, delivering outcomes that brokers and insureds genuinely value. However, material differences between insurers remain, reinforcing the importance of independent benchmarking.”
UK Regional Market Claims Awards
In 2026, three UK Regional Market insurers achieved the Claims SQM: Allianz, Chubb and Ecclesiastical. Despite continued operational pressures within the UK Regional Market, these insurers demonstrated consistently strong service levels, retaining their SQM accreditation.
They were highly praised by UK claims broking specialists for their responsiveness, clarity of communication, and technical knowledge, all exceeding the ratings threshold required for accreditation.
Allianz has held the award since 2017, the only UK Regional Market insurer to do so.
London Market Underwriting Awards
Gracechurch has awarded its Underwriting SQM to seven London insurers in 2026. The insurers achieving the 2026 SQM for outstanding underwriting service in the London Market are: Ascot, AXA XL, Chaucer, Convex, IQUW, Liberty Specialty Markets and Tokio Marine Kiln.
These insurers were strongly recommended by producing and placing brokers in London and received consistently high ratings for two customer-oriented measures: Collaboration and Customer Focus. All exceeded the threshold of at least 80% positive ratings over the previous year, meaning brokers and insureds can expect a consistently high-quality underwriting experience.
UK Regional Market Underwriting Awards
Gracechurch has awarded its UK Underwriting SQM to four insurers in 2026.
The insurers achieving the 2026 SQM for outstanding underwriting service in the UK Regional Market are: Allianz, Arch, AXA and Intact Insurance.
These insurers were strongly recommended by producing and placing brokers and achieved consistently high ratings for Collaboration and Customer Focus, exceeding the ratings threshold over the previous year.
Ben Bolton adds:
“Underwriting excellence is defined by insurers who work in genuine partnership with brokers while remaining sharply focused on end-customer needs. In an increasingly competitive market, superior service remains a critical differentiator for sustainable growth.”
